Before, in Korea, women were not able to pursue education even if they were talent on the basis of their gender. However, Maria Kim set up a school focused on female education, and Yoo Gwan- soon helped advocate for Korean independence. Maria Kim’s actions resulted in more schools being built for women to pursue their passion and not rely on just marriage for stability and Yoo Gwan- soon helped show the power that women held.
